Free Workshop on Water Safety for Seniors

The Senior Citizen's Committee hosted a free workshop on June 23, 2024, aimed at equipping seniors with essential water safety knowledge and skills, especially for those new to New Zealand.

The workshop featured a comprehensive 60-minute session including a 40-minute presentation, a 15-minute dry base demonstration, and a 5-minute Q&A. The content covered drowning statistics and prevention, the impact of water quality on health and safety, self-rescue techniques, and emergency response strategies.

Madison Chang, a highly experienced Drowning Prevention Advisor from Drowning Prevention Auckland, led the workshop. With years of expertise in water safety education and training, Madison provided valuable insights and practical advice tailored to the needs of seniors.

The event took place from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, followed by light lunch, generously sponsored by AIAI.
